But what is meditation? Simply put, it’s a technique used to develop an unconditioned state of consciousness through the focusing of the mind. But why practice meditation? We live in a world that often demands so much of our focus and attention. It has therefore never been more important to have ways to help you stay grounded when dealing with life’s stresses. According to a study from Stanford University School of Medicine, practicing meditation can lead to up to a 30% decrease in  stress symptoms related to serious illness. However, the benefits go far beyond stress management. It can also improve your focus, lower “brain chatter”, improve your ability to connect with others, and even help you identify sources of pain in your life.
